Found this brooch at a farm site dating back to the late 1700's. The brooch or broach, as I've seen it spelt both ways, looks really old to me but I don't believe the pin on the back is as old as I originally thought. Any thoughts on how old this piece could be would be greatly appreciated.

May have had a cameo on it ?
I hate english spelling, it should be broach.

I'm gonna guess that it's later Victorian (circa 1890's) I too think the pin back bits do not support a much earlier date .
