Detector(s) used
Inherited 70s Garrett Fortune Hunter, Bounty Hunter Elite 2200, Fisher F5, Garrett Propointer
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
It was in a mining camp from the late 1800s to early 1900s and was around a railroad loading area to the mine.

The markings are "PAT DEC 11 94"
And also a capital "B" inside a circle at the top
The 11 in the first marking is rather unclear and the top looks like it extended into a shaft or rod
It also appears to have clamped on the other side

The top

The side

Next to a quarter for size

Just a wild guess, looks like the part to a brush.

Thanks Gang for the kudos. :) Digger92, now you need to do some research in the area where you found it, and find out where the closet Trolley car was located back before the turn of the century. Breezie

Could they have used these on mine carts back then? I know the area was right at the mouth of one shaft into the mine and there is an awful lot of mining objects scattered about. It looks like from what research and info I have their was also a small town for the miners families and three different railroads close by for hauling coal

My guess would be it was used for mining.
