Help! Southern Ohio pottery?

[drewa77]

I was out today and came across almost an entire pot (broken). I have limited knowledge on the type and style of pottery found in this area, therefore my question is, is this modern or Native American. On the other hand, found all kinds of flint ridge flakes!

[rock]

Im not from your area but just going by color I would guess more modern. Pics are a bit blurry so its a guess.

Looks more modern to me.

[yakker]

absolutely modern. note potter's wheel 'rings' on the bottom piece.

Here is some actual Native American Pottery pieces.

Cool thanks for the input!

Drew, if you'd like some Pottery just let me know. I work at Vandervort Ace just down the street from the school and I could bring some in. You could swing by and see get it so you can study what local Pottery looks like.

[drewa77]

That would be awesome

I am there Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Let me know when you can stop by and I'll bring some in.

[drewa77]

I can swing by Friday.

[The Grim Reaper]

Cool. I'll bring some pieces in for you to study.

[drewa77]

Sorry Steve! I missed you this morning and forgot until just now. When can I meet up with you again?

[The Grim Reaper]

Yeah, sorry I missed you. I guess I should have told you I don't come until 8:30 am. I am there Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm. I have a box of pieces in my truck so stop by anytime. I usually take lunch between 12 and 1 pm.

[drewa77]

Sounds good. I will swing by next Thursday.
