Found this while regrading my daughters back lawn. Heavy. April 80-90 lbs. central mass area. Near old farmland. Anyone have any solid ideas?

Looks like a mortar shell with the fins broken off.The fuse would screw into the plugged opening.If that,s what it is and the diameter is 4.2 inches it could be a white phosphorus shell,nasty stuff.if exposed to air it burns very hot and keeps burning until deprived of oxygen.I don,t know that,s what it is but be careful.

Could very well be,good guess.If the smaller solid rod toward the bottom is movable I,d go with that before my guess.

Doesn’t help but the unthreaded end looks like it’s for a victrolic (sp) connection
