Hello all-
I was wondering if anyone might be familiar with this button I found while poking around the woods today. Sorry about the poor scan, I've outlined the device, which appears to be a lyre (three strings). I can make out only the word "wilson" on the back. Thanks in advance for your help.

Without seeing your scan or a photos, all I can say is that your description of the button's emblem (a 3-string Lyre) sounds like a Musician's button. Contrary to popular opinion, those Lyre buttons have been worn mostly on Civilian band-unfiroms, not Military. They are still being manufactured today, and are very frequently seen on school band uniforms (such as the one in my closet, from the 1960s). In contrast, these Lyre buttons are almost never seen in historical photos of Military musicians.
