Help with button

This (cuff?) button is about 15mm. It's sort of a crummy picture, but I think it's probably enough for the right person. Any info? Thanks!

I will tonight. There is not much left of it but I do believe it was brass also - looks like it got ripped off.

I'm guessing a Chief Petty Officer's button from after 1941.

When I did a Google image search, I found a very similar button on etsy - said it was French 1930's. Here's the back . . .
