Hi guys and gals ::)

I picked up this coin a while ago but could not see much on it as it was in a bad state. Anyway I thought that it was no good that way so I threw it in some vinegar for a while and have managed to get more detail.

The coin is made of copper, and is 33mm dia. The edge has a mill that is between two plain edges. The heads side is a head which has a hair tail or something..... and the Tails side of the coin is of a women facing left with a stick in the left hand and looks like she is holding her right hand out.... I guess like Britannia the wrong way around ;D Also I cannot see a date on the coin.

The photo's have been made into negatives to make the design clearer for all to see.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

God bless
Peter

Looks like a George III penny, c. 1806-07.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D When I posted this coin, I thought ::) I bet PBK will be the one to get it right..... Guess what?

Thanks PBK you have hit the nail on the head with this one.... Now when I look under the head on mine it looks like a partial 1807.... Apart from my two roman coins, this must be my oldest coin ;)

Thanks and God bless
Peter
