Flat Button ?? - Pics Added

I was hunting at an old victorian house in my hometown yesterday and found a flat button that measures 21cm in diameter. That shank is smashed, but intact and it has some wording on the back.

One direction "ORANGE....
The other direction "TR M or Y R....

There is an indentation (ring) on the backside as well at the midway point (just outside the shank) and there could be writing in there, but it is to hard to tell.

I also think that there could be a "V" on the front.

Any ideas?

First thoughts are - V for Queen Victoria.

However I don't reconise the backmark.

That is what I thought too, but the more I look at it the more it resembles a roman numeral V. I will take better photos of it and post them tomorrow morning.
