These crystals are pretty common in my neighborhood in the Cuyamaca Mountains, San Diego Co., California. I'm new to mineral ID but interested in getting better at it and building a collection.
Can someone help with ID of this gray mineral with the distinct unidirectional ridges. I thought the white stuff around it might be quartz or feldspar - help there would be great too!
