Help with finding black sand pay streaks with Gold Stinger

I need some help with tips finding black sand pay streaks on a river bank with a Gold Stinger. What to listen for?

Settings, I assume all Metal Mode, Manual ground balance(slightly positive). I have both a 4" sniper coil and 5"X10" Oval coils.
