I found this piece of metal and it appears to have a key hole at the top any idea what it could have went to or was apart of

Looks like a front plate from an old pad/box lock, Maybe someone will have pics.

It's a ruler from the Elmwood Corporation located in Birmingham, Alabama and judging by the phone number its an old one. Sorry couldn't resist
