This past summer I was digging in a dump in New Hampshire and found this old stoneware bottle. When I found it it was cracked into 4 pieces which I glued back together and I could not find the handle. I can read most of the printing on it. From what I can read it says
"___ fireside ____.
L. P. Chandonnet,
28 Concord St.,
Manchester, N. H."
I have tried to research this bottle online and I cannot find anything similar to it. The only info I got was from old town directories, the 1854 one has it listed as a grocery store and the 1905 one has it listed at a liquor store.

Any info on this bottle especially about what type of bottle this is, how old it is, how rare it is, and how much it may be worth is greatly appreciated.

I am of no help as far as your questions .But it is a very nice find even if it is cracked into 4 pieces

yea nice find since you glued it back together

I love the blue top, never seen that color on top of a jug . Congrats !!!!

I'm thinking it is in the 1905 range instead of 1850s

Never seen one, but it's a beauty. Like Charlie said, the blue is incredibly deep for a pottery glaze. Hopefully, someone from New England will chime in with some information.

On page 40 of 'The National Provisioner', printed on 2/22/1919, it mentions this: "The newest edition (sis) to the Manchester Market is the Concord Street Market at 28 Concord Street, Manchester, New Hampshire. The proprietor is L. P. Chandonet." This strongly suggests that the creation of your bottle post-dates 2/22/1919.

PS:
YET the New Hampshire Business Directory lists Chandonnet at the Concord Street address; very confusing.

The word after 'fireside' (if it be 'fireside'} looks like 'Gate'.

That's what I think too. Maybe the first line says "The Fireside Gate".
