Help with silver hallmark- o.o. stillman

Can anyone help me with these spoons? The only mark on them is O.O. STILLMAN. They feel like sterling, but I cant find anything on the hallmark. /they are very nice spoons, so really don't want to scrape them or use acid if it can be helped.



I got them for free, they were in this solid mahogany silverware chest that was being thrown away. It has some scratches and is missing one drawer pull but its a very nice well built box, and its mahogany!

Thanks for the replies! So, oo stillman was a retailer between 1879-1925 and marked what they sold with their names. Anyway to know if they only sold sterling or not? There are no other markings that I can see. But, it looks and feel like sterling, not too heavy, and it seems pretty delicate, not very thick.

On a sidenote, there was also a U.S marked Silco fork, which was a military mess kit fork around ww2.

It's coin silver. Probably 1850- 1860's. It could be made by Orlando F. Osgood from Haverhill Mass. Then sold by stillman. Can't find to much on his mark though. A really cool find!!

That's a cool picture. Just think, one of those people in the picture may have just walked out of his store with these exact spoons!
