To help us ID, what are the symbol or letters inside of the oval?

Dutch
referencing: Dutch Hallmarks - Encyclopedia of Silver Marks, Hallmarks & Maker's Marks

Key with Lion Passant with the number 2:
The key mark was used 1853-1953, it is stamped abutting or intruding on the Lion or the Sword standard mark to indicate the object was made for export. Rarely, a piece will be seen with a second key, indicating that it had later been imported back into the Netherlands.

Lion Passant mark is silver purity or standard =.833
833/1000 fineness or 83.3% pure silver

Could be a 3 letter Makers Mark or may be the date code with the letter W in a circle and the way the "W" is, it appears to be more like 1856. Looks more like the 1856 W as opposed to the other "W" date marks.

Beautiful piece Charlie.
Seeing as it's Dutch, I'm thinking either a tobacco or snuff box.
