Good morning all,I’ve had this in my coin collection for some time now and am unaware of what it is. It’s a little larger than the size of a quarter and appears to be made of brass or bronze. Around the hole on the front looks like rust maybe from being screwed to something and the screw rusted away?
In any case I have no clue what it is. And was wondering if anybody here might have the knowledge pertaining to it.

I think @Indian Steve has it.

Henry Tasker is listed in the 1852 Sheffield Trade Directory as a manufacturer of saws, files, edgetools and machine knives at St George's Works, 28 Edward street, England. He seems to have been active between 1852-1855, although those are not definitive dates.

I would think that’s the button-like medallion that was affixed to one of his tools. Like this kind of thing on an edgesaw, although this one isn’t screwed in (and it’s not a Tasker tool):

EDIT: sorry for duplication. Submit buttons being hit at around the same time.

Thats a rare one.

found this:

Anybody have dates for a Tasker & Co. in Sheffield? I've got a steel-
>>backed backsaw in nice shape - dark patina but no pits or kinks - and
>>all it says is SHEFFIELD Tasker & Co. CAST STEEL. I've been searching
>>Google like crazy and I think its 1850-1870ish but nothing firm. The
>>main medalliion is missing, the 2 smaller nuts were split-nuts, only
>>1-1/2 remain (missing the split half of one.)
