Here are a few years worth of beads

I find a lot of beads at different sites. If you've been on one of the other two boards I post on these might be repeats for you, but if not these are all Arawak/Taino beads from around the caribbean. Most are personal finds, some are finds from locals that walk the sites with me, others were purchases.

Compound ear rings (bone hoops with beads.)

My best single cache of beads:

This was a neat burial of a little alligator or croc. The gator skull, some bone tools, and a very neat little necklace with a big tooth on it.

Wow !!! I really like seeing them stringed up. So what in the world does one do with a cache of beads Do you still have your cache? Really nice post. Great finds. Glad you are on this site also. Nice to see artifacts from further away.

Very nice Joshua. I think I remember seeing some of those at the Ripley show a couple of years back. I thought I had a lot of Beads, but mine don't hold a candle to your collection. Very impressive indeed!

OmanOman! You said you had beads to post, and I've been waiting. I wanted to compare them to mine. These supposedly came from a Pacific coast country, not the Caribbean coast. They really look similar, except for the color, and that might just be the photos. I always thought the one bead in the third picture looks like a tooth. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm so exicited about the similarities.

After more reading, thanks inter-net, I'm going out on a limb and saying maybe the orange colored ones in my two strands were from the spondylus critter off the coast of ecuador. Don't know yet about the blue and green colors, stone I'm guessing, but will try to get a more educated idea. And how did they make them? Some are so perfect, they seem fake or modern, which they could be. These were either a gift, or purchased, can't remember the story.
