Here's an odd one: 74 year old Pan Am crash found in 2,000 feet of water

Douglas DC-4. Only 17 people survived. 52 died because most of them stayed in their seats instead of heading to the life rafts. The article doesn't say why this crash took so long to locate, but the Wikipedia article states that it went down about 7 miles from shore, and the exploration team took more than 350,000 pictures of it. Only one picture of the crash in the Fox News article:
