Nice finds, congrats...
Glad to hear you got out, are you all out of snow, looks nice there!!!

I'd be happy with any of that's good day out with friends.

Well yeah. I am surprised you all did not tackle Russy out in the field.:tongue3: You still made some good finds. It is good to be back out there after winter. Nice looking blade you have there as well.

Hey wait I call foul!! That knife is a beauty and it looks fluted both side. That point Russy found was nice......but....you found what appears to be a really beautiful FLUTED Knife. You need to post a picture of that cleaned up. The way I see it now is Steve and Russy-0 Kelly-1..........Chris(GTP)

Looks like you guys had a great, productive hunt. Is the knife patinated KRF???

Joel

the TRSS blade is not fluted but it is chipped on the end of the side shown in the last two images
i have seen alot of these about half are trss and the other half are krf
these were mounted sideways in a rib bone handle so there would be reason as i see for a flute
all i found was pottery shards and two broke scrapers.....i came in last place today but it was a good day

Okay here's some better photos. It does look like this piece may have been worked so it could be hafted though, both sides of base were "thinned" for about 3/4" towards the tip. We do find blades

As Steve said the material is TRSS and we have found quite a few similar blades but not with deliberate thinning at the base like this one. The photo of the piece with the red background is more typical of we find.

The Hunt is ON! Way to go another good bunch of finds. I know it was a long winter but it looks like it was worth the wait. I cant wait for summer so I can go kayaking.
