I took a stroll around the mansion today, finds are getting pretty slim. I did find a couple things though, of course.

One of them was this buckle.

Ever see one like this?




Also found this button nearby. It's two piece, in person you can see a tiny bit of gilt left.
But, otherwise, just a plain old button.

Strange, but there seems like a wide variety of ammo on this place! Wonder what went on here?











If you look close enough at the last two, you'll see it used to be a 1902 V Nickel.
I'll try to clean it somehow, but I'm not expecting much.



This makes me feel better. At least I know that even the craftsmen from long ago bent their square nails as good as I do my new ones.

Now ya see why I chose a favorite school ground for my last hunt in 2012.

Yep, I suppose so. My ear must've been tuned in to hear that one though. The button too.

Anyway, at least the ground did give me a piece of silver.

Neat buckle.Looks to have some age to it for sure.

The pics don't show it very well, but, there is a pretty heavy green patina in a couple areas. I was kind of thinking a shoe buckle, for a baby's shoe!
