I found this after creek was up, have an idea maybe what it's from, but need backing! lol It looks old, tried the hot needle test, no smell. So, what do you think? This is my first time posting on this site, hope I can post pic's OK, we'll see? Uh oh, having trouble here getting picture.....ok, trying again.... DSCN1766.webpDSCN1767.webpDSCN1765.webp

That almost looks like a small human femur, and with the curvature of the bone, it looks like whomever had scurvy.

Gee, hope you're kidding.....aren't human one's more rounded? I was thinking that this could be from a large cat (Mt. Lion) because of the shape? But thanks for replying, you're my "first" ever on this site...it's my first day! Yah, scurvy, I thought that to.....lion with scurvy LOL

deer scapula?

Thanks guys, I'll do some research and check out what you said. Someone I know had said it was a cougar humorus bone and I wanted to see if anyone else thought so.

Harry what are you, a horse expert?! I think so!! Thank you, I've been searching high & low to find what this bone was really from and now have the answer. I found a picture online that looks the most like it and yup, a horse rib and even more amazing, the first rib like you said, Thank You Harry.....oh & can you check all my other posts, you probably know the answer to them as well ! lol
