Hi i want to start prospecting in southern California but i am completely new and don't know any one who does it. any tips. maybe where i can take a tour, I have read about hillcomb valley near me. thanks.

My best advice is to join one of the local prospecting clubs in your area. GPAA membership is good, but not as much personal advice and pointers. The local groups are usually very casual and have a wealth of knowledge on places to prospect in your area. I myself just got started prospecting in CA, and some of the guys here pointed me to the local club. One of the best decisions I've made! Keep looking around, ask questions, and I'm sure someone in your area will chime in about one of the local clubs. Good luck and happy hunting!!
