Hey,that's not a half!

SANY0692 [640x480].webpSANY0694 [640x480].webpIt is funny ,I started a bit backwards and got into hunting big time when stationed in Europe so I had dug roman -WW2 stuff before I had ever dug a merc or a buffalo nickle so I still have a big wish list of US coins and relics I have to mark off .

I hit two homes and found my first barber quarter . The barber was the best for the day but I also dug a little brass bottle that says pat. applied for on the bottom.Pretty cool.SANY0682 [640x480].webpSANY0683 [640x480].webp
Today I had to go to work for an hour and then I hit a home built in 1950 thinking maybe I could score some late silver .Only a couple of hours spent and lots of clad and several wheats and then about an inch down turned on its edge there was a big silver! I thought yes,my first Franklin but when I look at it I knew it was a British coin because I had seen them dug on youtube.
No date but it look like an 1870s -1880s silver one florin. One side is badly worn but the other is pretty good. I assume it was brought back from WW1 or 2. You just never know what you will find. SANY0684 [640x480].webpSANY0687 [640x480].webpSANY0688 [640x480].webp
