Hi from Georgia!

I am new to prospecting. I have an mpx pro metal detector and have done quite a bit of research on gold in Georgia. A lot of the gold here is very fine. I was wondering what you can do with gold that small. I have a specimen that signals gold on the detector but I would like to know if what I am looking at is the gold or if it is tiny gold flake.
Your forums are great and give the best advice.

Welcome aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Georgia for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

The MXT PRO will read a spec of gold as little as 1 grain which is very small however if you have a lot of it there are better recovery ways to make it worth your time. There also maybe more area close by that could yield larger gold.
