Hi new from Mass

Hi I am a new member from western Massachusetts . I own a higher end Bounty Hunter given to me as a gift by my wife. With the kids grown up Ive got time to detect and would like some advice . I have permission to hunt a 1850's home and was wondering what mode to hunt in. The all metal type mode, one of the presets or one of the custom type modes? Love to find coins but don't want to exclude coppers etc.
Also are there any clubs or people looking to hunt together? I love reading these forums and would like to make this hobby fun and interesting for me . Please give me some advice! Thanks Ray
