I Know there is many CW finds posted on here but in Wyoming no CW items are to be found...but I did find these last week and are related to F.W. Lander who built the Lander Cutoff in 1858....these are spent .36 cal bullets
shot from a Colt Navy .36...they were all in a small area about 10ft square along the trail that goes thru a section of private ground...

When Lander began building the new cut-off he bought 35 Colt Revolvers and 3000 rounds of ammunition for the project since this was his first choice of weapon for the frontier excursion..

Now that is cool! My family on fathers side is from Lander - (Marcy livery stables), Edna Farlow was my Great Aunt. Didn't know the history you have provided - thanks!

Looks like someone stopped on the trail to have a little target practice. Nice finds, and love the historical note. Thanks for sharing.
