Any experts out there? (LOL)

This did have quite a bit more rust on it, I knocked most of it off.

It's a 5 shot, and has a octagonal barrel. When's the last time they used one of those?

Found in an old farm field.

Cool find. Closest thing I found was the Iver Johnson American Bulldog: C and R - Curios and Relics - Hand Guns - Guns and Treasures

I'm pretty sure what you have there is an H&R Model 1905. There are a few other pistols that are very similar, but looking at the grip profile the 1905 is the closest match I can think of. That's a really cool find and in good shape for having come out of farm land!

I'm inclined toward this one too. The condition is pretty good too but, I did knock a LOT of rust off it first.

Take a brass brush to it, and knock off the loose rust, then give it a few coats of clear coat. It'll look really good framed on your wall. That's a really nice find as far as guns go, and I'm just a tiny bit jealous.... :icon_thumleft:
