Looks like the sea gave up one 175 years later, even if he was really found in the ice South of the wreck. The engineer of the HMS Erebus, 1845 Franklin expedition has been identified through DNA. Nice to see descendants getting some closure, even after all this time has gone by. That voyage must have been absolute hell as the ice closed in:
