Hey sparky,Awesome find!!This however is knot the first knothole cache I've ever heard of.Back in the 1930's in Waterville Maine a guy was sawing down a tree and found a stash of silver and gold coins in a knothole bank such as yours. So yours is knot the first but still a spectacular find, congrats!!! Great find and thanks for the story. The silver gods blessed you well. Found my first merc the other day and it was motivating seeing that beautiful work of art laying in the dirt. Good luck in the future.
Wow, How exciting and what A thrill you must have had. I read a story in The Turnbo Manuscripts about an oldtimer who drilled a hole in a log and filled it with gold pieces and then plugged it. Thanks for sharing your story.....Steve
Looks like some old Mercs, any key dates?? 16D, 21P, 21D, 26S
You should send that story in to White's, if you found it with a White's detector. They might just use it on their website and possibly send you a coupon good for 200 dollars to get some detector accessories.
