With great excitement we headed off to the fields for our first day of our detecting at home holiday! Lovely sunny day, but surprisingly windy!

so this first item, found by myself is a bit of a mess, but…. It does have traces of a gold gilt edge… pic of the inside where you can see the gold, and the outside… a couple of buckle pieces, a little hinge, ring and piece of buckle, 2 muskets and flat round lead disk, door knob, and buttons, a badly beat up Roman you can just see the face, what I think could be a florin, and a really small coin, no markings, but don’t think it’s a button!

We also scouted a new untested field while we were out, so will be heading there tomorrow for you! Himself has been chatting to the local farmer this week, so have got to new fields to try later in the year, these are 2 grass fields back at (what we call ) the Roman villa site! Super excited, but we must do the arable while we can… I was told! 😳 xx

Congrats!

Tempting glint of gold for sure.......

Buckle piece with your choice of coin or button or mystery item hot glued to one end and the other end set in your doorknob /vase... You'd be ready for the gallery!

Well I don't know what the flash of gold object is. Though I do know that those are green apples, and that's a door knob.
Best of luck for day 2.
