✅ SOLVED Hollow copper ribbed bulb painted white

Found this object near an old 19th century farmhouse in Ontario Canada. It's copper, hollow, and has remnants of white paint.

I am guessing a decorative object, but why make it out of copper and paint white?

Almost looks like some type of decorative extension that a metal rod goes through Hisownself!

Possibly brass? From a bedstead?

Looks like a good bet that it's a decorative piece from a brass bed. I cleaned a little spot on the object and it's indeed brass. And the ends are concave with a profile that would allowing mating up to a brass tube of the right diameter as those in the pic.
