Still cant believe it. Found a CLOVIS this evening. 2 1/2"L

Something that got me thinking about. The black stuff I assumed was concretion acutely left-over ancient glue. I put it in vinegar to remove it which usually does a good job. Well, it did nothing. Talked with a friend and noticed it was on both sides and in the flutes. left over bitumen? what's yalls thoughts? any way to test it?

My archeologist buddy knows people at the university in that dept. He contacted them and they want to see it and said they will test the material to see if it is. They also said If I want they will put it in the clovis registry.

Just a though but could the black spots be nano diamonds. It is an school of thought ,,,,the black specs on paleo older rocks.

Me and my buddy were in Levy County Fl. on a private site with permission. We were doing test holes and found some virgin ground amongst a very dug out spot. My hole wasn't much more than 2'X2' when I hit something. Could only see very end of bade and was thinking Levy or Hamiliton being they have concave base and found a lot in that area. Went to remove more dirt and it fell out of the wall. I hollered CLOVIS and grabbed it. Handed right to my buddy without ever looking at it. Not much digging after that. Talked about the clovis awhile then buried our holes and left. this was 7/3/2026

Congratulations what a fantastic find. I found one very similar in Marion county with a similar rounded unfinished tip.

It's better to never soak your point in anything or touch them with contaminated hand.

That is a very slippery slope to slide down in Florida given their past history
