I use a vlf machine. I have an old treasure mate pinpointer that I thought I might use the coil end from it and wire that to a toggle and use my MD control box to power and detect with that coil. Is this possible?

Been playing around with it and have not met with any success yet. Would appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

You might just want to get a sun ray .

I would love to buy a sunray. Problem is I love using my f5. I contacted sunray and they not only dont make them for the f5 but have not future plans to make one. That is what started me on this project.... Thx for the reply, Monolyth

Here's what you are up against. You can't use jest any coil. The wire length in the coil ,in order to work with your detector, must match the wave length of your transmitter frequency. If you don't know how to figure wavelength from frequency, drop the project, your are in over your head. What you are trying to do requires at least a technician level in electronics.
