Honor Scout Badge

Does anyone have any idea as to the origin of the attached Honor Scout badge dated 1935 and has "36" engraved on the bottom? It appears to be pure silver based on the ice cube test. There was. USA Boy Scouts honor badge but I can't find any photos of anything like this one. Not English based on the timelines I found but I could be wrong... Any help will be appreciated! I've never heard of a Boy Scout Honor badge nor do I see any BSA insignia that may support a BSA origin; this would be a first for me.

There was one developed about the same timeline.. with crossed wreaths for heroism.. the medal I have doesn't pull up or match anything that I can find... odd for sure. Again, appears to be pure silver but I'm not an expert.. Thanks.

That’s a fair point, Don. I also didn’t find any direct BSA insignia linked to it, which makes me think it might not be an official Boy Scout Honor badge. It could be from a local troop, a commemorative piece, or even from a different scouting organization altogether. Hopefully someone with more historical knowledge can confirm

We’ll honor and honesty certainly should be something the Boy Scouts should have encouraged. Right? Doesn’t surprise me. As a community chapter, it would make sense if it didn’t exist that folks would do what it took. The fact it was one sided indicates amateur casting?

That’s really interesting. Some medals from that era do end up being unlisted or lightly documented, especially if they were custom-issued or had limited production. The crossed wreaths for heroism definitely sound like a unique detail. If it’s truly silver, that adds another layer of curiosity. Have you considered getting it checked by a local jeweler or a military memorabilia expert? They might be able to verify the material and narrow down its origin.
