I found this today on a rural farm. Old . The metal appears to be brass. It is stamped out and is thin metal.
 
My first guess would be a horse harness or tack buckle. :thumbsup:
But the opening where the leather strap runs through seems too small for a horse harness... so maybe a watch fob? :icon_scratch:

To big for that I think. But you are right, the strap loops are not big enough for the average price of leather to run through.

It has the look of one of those pieces that looks really familiar... but I just can't quite place it. :laughing7:

think it is part of a Horse Bridal or Halter. There would have to be something (probably leather ) on the back of it as the metal does not rub the horse raw.

I think you are right. It is a side deco piece not utility which is what I was thinking.

Yours looks to be much too thick to be a buckle shield? :icon_scratch:
