You say the horse was inside the cave?
Is the cave large enough to have been used to keep horses?

If not.... no clue.
Horses mark major trails such as supply trails and campaign trails.
The head is usually oriented in the direction of travel.

it is a sign of A horse as I previousley mentioned it is a hidden chamber it 's entrance was found under a rock I just called it a cave by mistake sorry

One might ask when were horses around that area first off.

Secondly..the description you gave just reminded me of tombs..like Egyptian tombs for example,where the creatures, and items buried with them were sometimes carved on the walls.

Thirdly any myths having to do with horses. They are not riding..but following the horse...yes?
