hot water heater?

Just a regular dead 40 gallon Whirlpool hot water heater... What's in these things, anything the yards do or don't want? Anybody scrap one lately?

You can remove the brass valve. And the wire. Put the rest with the scrap steel. Brass by me $1.45 a pound, Ins wire $1.05 and steel $.085.

Thanks -- I didn't know if there was some kind of insulation around the inside that would cause them to reject it. Brass here is $1.70, btw, steel $0.05, haven't checked on ins. wire lately. I am only a very minor-league scrapper of steel/ferrous -- no room to store it! -- but a friend just changed out his washer, dryer & water heater, so, that & a few other things will make a load.

I'm with the original response. Cut it down into its actual components, and it's worth more.
