How about a poll?

T.H.... it wasn't an insult sir... it was him responding to a dumb post I made above it. All is good with us. Sorry for the confusion....!
I know you guys are joking with each other, and insult was not his intent per se, but to new members it sets bad example, it can come across as an insult and new members can take it as it's okay to insult other members.

Understood sir... sorry.

1. Yes
2. No
My opinion is the bay (now a swamp) was used as a place to repair & refit sailing ships. The road from there to the money pit was to transport cargo & lighten the ship so it would float higher during repairs. The water tubes were a way to float or lower the ship into the cradle (the remains were found below). The oaks on Oak Island were used to repair ships. Anywhere people lived there will be some lost things but there's no real treasure there anymore... unless you're filming a show.

Oh fer Pete's sake.
Okay. Anything from now on is "next poll" should there be one.

MOST IMPORTANT, thank you all for participating.

This is interesting.
Most people believe there was a treasure, but it's not there now.
If we accept that as the way it really is, then the explanation for the events on OI must accommodate this truth - finding the story behind the legend, as it were.

One explanation that accounts for this new fact stems from two episodes of OI.
1.When the McGinnis sisters were on, they said the family lore was that the original three recovered 3 chests.
2. There was a visit to the man who inherited? Captain Anderson's (a lot owner on OI) chest to see if there was any useful information in his personal papers. The owner made a big deal of presenting a 4 key keyring, one of which opened the chest. Where did the other 3 go?
I don't think COOI scripted that connection since it would cast doubt that the treasure is there, which would tank the reason for the show to exist.

In my opinion I always thought that if the Family was remotely telling the truth about the 3 finding "some" treasure, what was the odds of there being 3 chests and 3 people in the dig. I figured that that part evolved over the years and it was really that all 3 got some treasure as they split what was found.. If they found anything at all they apparently didn't tell people or why keep digging. From then on it was a ruse as some people probably knew they were digging but hadn't been told they found anything. OR, the planks every 10' story is true and they kept finding them even after their chest or chests, so the thinking was there'd be more below..

No and no. There are only stories suggesting it. That is enough for some. Because there are links between the fictions about OI and the fictions about Judeo Christianity there has been an inherent transfer of belief since very early on (1840s).

Guess I'm missing something. I don't follow the links between the two. Judeo Christianity is a term used for Christianity and Judaism which are 2 slightly different beliefs, but at the core basically believe in the same things.. ( God, Ten Commandments etc )
Is that your connection? There are no same beliefs in the OI treasure story. You pretty much either believe or you don't..
