How can i make a sand scoop?

Was just wondering if I could make a decent sand scoop to use while metal detecting...

Well there are several ways... now the question is you want a hand held sand scoop or you want a scoop with a pole? The small hand held scoop is easy just get a plastic jar/ pitcher, make some holes on it and you are done. There are several videos in youtube on how to make sand scoops.

Heres a cheap and simple solution for a 3 qt hand scoop. Any farm supply store should have a plastic feed scoop for between 5 and 10 dollars. Get a 1/2 drill bit and drill the heck out of it. the feeder scoops look like this. Super Simple AND cheap! Plus as a bonus, since it is plastic you can scoop up some sand and wave it over your coil, it the target is in there it will beep, if not well...no beep.
