How do I use this metal detector?

Hi everyone!
I need some help with my radio shack VLF discriminator detector. Ok, so before you laugh at it..and me, LOL, I need some help. I really do not know how to use this metal detector properly. My target is coins and relics, while avoiding the plentiful iron junk. I do not have the manual. Where should I turn the knobs? Has anyone ever seen one of these?

Try experimenting with it, maybe make a quick test garden in your backyard or at a close by beach(soft sand). It will pick up coins easy anyway.
