A recent thread was posted where an individual lost a stash hidden in his car due to theft. This got me thinking,

How or where do you store your stash?

Out here in earthquake country, where almost all houses are wood-framed, a house fire absolutely will get hot enough to severely damage coins. I've heard many stories of people losing their collections after the 1991 Oakland hills fire.

The average house fire temp is 1100 degrees F. Even if they don't melt, the plastics containing them can make the coins a terrible mess.

I keep mine in a pot at the end of a rainbow and this guy guards it
