I would like to start doing some water detecting and was wondering if any of you have tried your Vaquero in water? I'm not talking about submerging it past the box. Mainly just detecting fresh water lakes and creeks to about 2' deep.
I was debating buying a Garrett AT Pro after seeing some videos, but I wanted to see if anyone has had success with the Vaquero in water first.
Ground balancing in water?
Coil with or without coil cover?
Any input would be a big help.

Thanks,
MM

I would not suggest going in the water Two-feet deep. The coil is waterproof, but it is too easy to slip or dunk the box.

Thanks Terry. I was just watching your YouTube video on ground balancing the Vaquero.
Have you tried the Vaquero in water?
Thanks,

Yes, in about foot deep fresh water in a creek and it did fine.

Awesome. Thanks Terry. I couldn't find any info or videos on the net with the Vaquero in water.

My cibola did fine in water, but the coil is a little hard to swing at the desired speed under water - my 8" sand shark coil was much easier. Each detector found a ring in the same area.
