I've only used mine on the dry sand and it works just fine. I have a Tiger Shark for the wet stuff. I've got the 3x18 clean sweep coil for the Umax and it covers a lot of sand in a hurry.

Umax is fine on dry sand but will go nuts in wet sand!

I was able to use mine in the dry sand and the wet sand in NJ, there was only a few spots where it went off eraticly

I used mine at Virginia Beach and it was suprisingly quiet in wet sand, even with the head under water. By comparison, my Bounty Hunter falses at the end of the arc on every swing in wet sand. The Silver is much quieter. If you're getting too many falses, lower the sensitivity.
