Im sure its been brought up here before, but what is the wait time you give someone who bought your item? This is not a $5 sale either and its a super niche item, took awhile to get a bite. Its been 5 days and nothing, even sent email and tried to get a response. If you bid on something have the intention of paying for it please. He even has 100% positive (55). I pay instantly when I buy, but that's me.

Have you sent an invoice? If so, send another invoice. I give a week then I open a case, if they don't respond at all.

I sell a lot of inexpensive items, and the few that don't get paid for I don't even bother and just block them. Anything where the fee would concern me I'd probably send another invoice after two weeks, write a message after three, and file the claim when it's near a month. It basically comes down to not having time and not being interested in chasing people unless it has an effect on my bottom line. I stopped getting excited about non paying bidders a very long time ago, and it's just the nature of the business it's going to happen, and that's how I handle it. All in all for as much as I sell this is not an issue at all.

I pay instantly as well. I usually send an invoice after a day or two if they haven't paid. I send a nice note asking if there
will be payment forthcoming two or three day after that. If I haven't heard from them at that point, it has been my experience that they simply aren't going to pay and I open a case at that point. Any nonpayment has an effect on my bottom line. Even though I don't do this for a living, I do it to make some money. If you are the winning bidder, you should pay. That is both the business model and the expectation. All of my auctions contain language encouraging bidders to contact me if they have any questions or issues...before they bid. eBay can be very frustrating for sellers these days. I personally have no qualms at least trying to make them earn their fees by going after deadbeat bidders. Having said that, about the best outcome you can ever expect is blocking that person from bidding on any of your items in the future. Not exactly a perfect system...sigh.

I have my settings to automatically open a case after 5 days. I try communicating with the buyer during that 5 days, but everything just goes on auto mode after that.

I contact buyers after 3 days asking if they are still interested in the item (I ask for payment in my listings with in 3 days of end of auction). If no response after 24 hrs. I write again stating I need to hear from them so I know they still intend to purchase item, and I ask if they need more time to pay etc. If after another 24hrs. and no contact I open a case and relist the item. Unfortunately this happens more frequently than one would expect. A lot of impulse bidders out there.

i just send an invoice after a couple of days, then another. after a few days, open npb case and ebay sends them an email. it's just rote. disappointing if its an item that has few buyers and he doesn't pay, but just relist it.

For the most part I don't have buyers that don't pay. Out of several thousand transactions, I can count on one hand the number of buyers who never paid or backed out of a deal. However, having said that, I am presently dealing with a buyer who asked for a discount on a BIN item, I edited the listing for them giving the discount, they purchased it, but haven't paid yet. I know, I know, I forgot to check the "BIN requires immediate payment" box so it's partly my fault, but still. It's been 3 days, she's got 1 more then it'll be re-listed at the original price and she will be on the blocked buyers list. I have this stated in all my listings-

Payment is expected within 4 days of auction close unless other arrangements have been made. If payment has not been received and there has been no communication from you, the item will be automatically re listed.

While I have never sold an item on Ebay, yet. I have purchased many thousands of dollars in coins, reloading equipment and misc.
I ALWAYS pay the second the auction ends. My thought process is that it is an agreement between me the bidder, and you the seller.
I have entered the agreement with my bid and you expect payment for such. I on the other hand expect you to ship the item I
purchased as soon as you can.

I have never been disappointed yet. Frustrated when they shipped it to the wrong address in another city. That one told me it was
delivered according to USPS, I said yes it was and she asked what my issue was. I said to look at the address it was delivered to
and my confirmed address on paypal. She immediately shipped out another item that was the same and shipped it priority overnight
service which cost her a pretty penny. Five Stars all the way!

My other misfortune came when the post office delivered a mint set I purchased. The back of the envelope was ripped and the set
was gone. I contacted the seller and sent her imaged photo's of the envelope. No questions asked, again (Different Seller) overnighted another set to me. Five Stars all the way and both of these sellers are priority one for me when I need something.

Can't understand why somebody would take up your time and not pay for what they agreed to. I just can't fathom that but then
maybe I live by a different set of morals then some people do.

Sorry to rant but it gets under my skin when I see something like this and it really doesn't effect me in anyway...:laughing7:
