How many targets, on average?

I find that I "usually" dig around 60-80 targets in a 6 hour hunt. Just curious what others are doing?

Depends on where I'm searching. If I find a lot of pull tabs and pennies, I drop back to digging the extreme readings of gold and silver, so I dig less. If digging a lot of trash, same thing.
If I'm looking for relics, artifacts and such I dig more signals.
But then again, I don't (YET) have a detector that shows anything about the target except signal strength. I have to make determinations by that and by the tone of the reading.

actually the Target here is good i only go to one. it really depends on the site if its trashy or clean. The airbase i been hunting would be about 50 if i am digging iron also.

I agree with depending on what I'm hunting for. I do a lot of relic hunting and dig hard iron along with whatever. It might take me 10 minutes to dig it up..figure out what the heck it is..fill my hole and stand up, pocket my find if it's small enough to pocket.....gaze around.....

In a flat park...I could see me digging at a pace that would get me 50 or 60 hits. But I dont hunt parks for more than an hour or so if thats all the time I got.

Today I detected for about 40 minutes and dug 5 targets....2 pulltabs or pieces...a screw cap...a wheatie and a clad quarter. It's a popular park...wasn't expecting much.

I only get one night a week to hunt. I usually hunt from 5 PM to 10:30 or 11:00 depending on how much trouble I want to be in when I walk through the door.

50-100 targets in that time period is about average for me.

depends on where I hunt, I've got one site where I dig about every other minute, and another I dig about once every 10 minutes

It's luck of the draw. Sometimes you hit a hot spot and other times you wander around and don't find a thing and wonder if you ever turned your detector on. lol

I seldom get to hunt that long but when I do I'd say 50 or so good targets.

If you count trash 2x that amount.

Agree with the others that it depends on the site. Usually I am going for old coins only, so I leave the shallower stuff. I have been doing that a lot this year as the ground was hard as a rock with no rain. If I'm gonna dig, it's gonna be a really good hit.

Yes depends on how the site is and if I'm tired... If I'm not tired I can dig over 100 targets in 6 hours if there are enough targets of course, I only ignore iron when relic hunting.. And there for I can get quite a few targets.

But on a modern site 40 to 80 would be average.
I have yet to do much relic hunting and there fore I am not certain of the numbers there.

i can take the tesoro and crank up the descrim.avg a coin about every 3 min or so.or the etrac diggin only the hi tones. sunday was typical. 80 min hunt. 26 coins . plus abt 15 junk targets. with clad bein worth so doggone little.and not much silver to find in my area.i been tryin to score some gold. dig them lo tones only. 2 hunts recently where i was able to stick to this. 90 min hunts no coins found. all can slaw bits and foil.hoping for gold

Actually the target count is zero for a 6 hour hunt...I have a short attention span and an over-funtioning bladder...and the gas costs prohibit too many round trips to home
