How old is this whiskey bottle? A friend gave this to me as a gift, and I know nothing about it.

I can barely make out the word "Rye" on the label.

The back has the words "Warrented Flask" in raised letters.
There is nothing on the bottom.

The seam goes about a third of the way up the neck on the bottle.

Closer view of the seam. And there are bubbles in the glass.

1890-1910, or thereabouts.

1880 - 1900 ... after 1900+ bottles were machine made and the seam would go through the lip of the bottle... If the seam does not go through the lip it is pre 1900... hope this helps....

Nice that it still has a little bit of the label on it still. This style of bottle is called a strap side and they were made extra sturdy on the sides so if you put your bottle in your back pocket it wouldn't break as easily( or so that's what I've heard)

They can date from 1860 thru the teens, depending on whether or not it is an applied top(earlier) or a tooled top(later), prior to this style flasks were seam side flasks with no 'strap' of glass going up each side...

Thank you for the help, much appreciated.
