Hey everyone, Yesterday I found the eagle padlock. I try to do some research but not so much, I wonder if anyone can tell me how old this lock could be?? :)

No idea on age, but its a very cool looking lock. Nice find.

That frame-looking piece with the gear is an old clock part. If you clean it up it may have a maker's mark on it too.

Welcome to TNet, and thanks for showing us your finds. I'm guessing the lock is early 20th Century. The folks that could tell you for sure, are in Terryville, across the street from the old Eagle site. They have about 1000 Eagles in their collection.

Hello Tentis. Nice lock and in good shape too. It looks all brass which is always good as far as condition goes.

I know what you mean about the difficulty in dating your find. I found these two Eagle locks and haven't been able to figure out much about them.

Eagle Lock

I have the same exact lock, but I don't have a key for mine. Do you have a key for yours and if so, can you post a picture of it?
We've buffed mine out, so it's looking pretty good. Did you contact the museum yet to ask them what year it is?
