How small of an object can your detector find?

I found this tiny remnant of what I believe to be a child's toy ring. The edges have punch press marks. It is not magnetic. I had trouble finding this after I acquired the target. Got a solid penny signal. It is about the third the thickness of a penny. I am pleased that my detector can latch onto such a small target. How small of a target have you found?

Found a silver pierced earring smaller than that....just barely the pin and the stone setting for the detector to pick up. Had a dog of a time finding it in the dirt. Was pretty shallow...maybe an inch...but I still found it.

Then there's the detector "no-see-ums"...like them gnats that fly in your ear at dusk...just a crumb of rust in the ground to drive you crazy when you can't find it in your handful of dirt. >:(

I found part of an earring about 1/2 that size with my Ace. I had trouble pinpointing it though.

I never even considered birdshot. That may explain A LOT when I was trying to do this 26 years ago....I hated that detector.... it kept detecting nothing!!!

With my 15" WOT Coil
about the size of a pin head

smaller coil maybe smaller

Bird shot is very hard to see in the dirt. Earring backs are easier because they are larger and the color.

No fair Jeff, when I wrote a number 9 birdshot I meant at 12 inches deep ;D

On the surface something as big as the diameter of a frog's hair.

Birdshot of course, lead or steel fellas? Dry land or in water? Totlots lack birdshot! It's an old pic, but that was one good day.

I found a very small, round glass light bulb about the size of a large pea. The filaments were very tiny. About four inches deep in dry sand, with my Pulse 8.

Rusty staples used to drive me crazy until I put a magnet from an old hard drive on my digger.
They are hard to see in bark chips.

We don't have any iron frogs here. The ones we have are the Hawaiian Hairless types mostly. ;D

thumb tacks are a nightmare too.

They come off as Indianheads

& Because of size they appear to be deeper then they are.

usually 50/50 I get stuck & this is how I find them.

it's rare My Probe finds them first.

Been stuck by a staple or 3 also.

birthday present last year

Jeff, I have located #9 birdshot under 6 inches of muck and water with my Sov. XS2A Pro and 10" BBS coil. See Picture for proof. Your's should do the same.

although I never Measured,
Yep I'm sure it does.

Dug the head off a horseshoe nail (about the size of a #4 shot) at a measured 8" once with my Silver Sabre umax. lots of small pieces of wire, rivets from blue jeans etc.
