How to Cook Frog's Legs
They are good if cooked properly and there are many different ways to cook them. Oh I know "those poor little frogs", well.... I've heard people say " try them, they taste like chicken", hey, they taste like frog legs to me.... whatever...
Phase 1. Supplies
You need:
1 About 1 doz. medium Frogs......
..duh!!! (Ask a ‘redneck’ friend how to hunt and capture) Note: I prefer the legs served individually, not connected at the hips.
2. Saltine crackers
3. Bag
4. Melted butter
5. Salt
6. Pepper
7. Worchester sauce
8. Spices or seasonings
9. Cooking oil
10. Onions (optional)
11. Lemon wedges
Phase 2. Utensils and Tools
1. Rolling pin
2. Knife
3. Bowls
4. Spoon
5. Spatula
6. Cast Iron Frying pan
7. Plate
Phase 3. Skin and Mix
First, you need to skin the frogs. Take you a knife and cut the legs from the body. Then, skin them with pliers. Mix the Worchester sauce and the melted butter together. It’ll be oily so don't fret about that.
Phase 4. Crunch and Add Flavorings
Put the crackers in the bag and smash into bits. The smaller the better but you don't want powder. You ‘all are going for small to fine, trying for bread crumb size like. Add in the salt, pepper, and Spices or seasonings, Shake up, real good!
Phase 5. Coating the Frogs
Dip the Frogs legs in the Worchester / butter mix. Give them a good dip and drop them in the bag with the crackers and flavor. Just drop 2 -3 legs in and shake it up a few times. Repeat this step until you cover all the legs. Now you have to cook them.
Phase 6. Cooking the Onions (this step is optional)
Take the frying pan and put onions and oil in it. Now the onions are optional but they make it taste better. Cook the onions until the oil has bubbled for about 2 or 3 minutes.
Phase 7. Cooking the Frog Legs
If you didn't put onions in the frying pan, put some oil in it or the legs will burn. Put the legs in the frying pan and cook until light golden brown on each side and cook a little longer after that. This is to make sure it's cook all the way through. Remove the legs and place on paper towels. Stir th’m roundabouts so the grease is soaked up by the paper towels. Taste one once they're cooled a little to see if you need to add whichever seasoning. Transfer them to another pan with more paper towels and cover with paper towels. Keep worm until all are cooked.
Phase 8. Enjoy
Now You ‘all can eat the frog legs but before you eat them, pure all the stuff in the pan into a bowl and let cool down to where it is warm, not hot. Then, you can dunk them and eat them. Serve with lemon wedges.
I'm not the best cook so if it doesn't taste good to you, then You ‘all cooked it wrong..
