How to rid Large Cent? of encrusted iron.

The other day I found a few large cents and 1 of them has iron on both sides.I soaked in hot peroxide for a while;which did soften the iron up and picked some off.It would be nice to see some kind of details of the coin.

Do you mean iron oxide, rust or a heavier coating of metal?
