Been real busy around work but I finally got some free time to go back to the old 1843 Church site.
On short hunt earlier this year I only found one coin here - a 1877 CC Seated Dime.
The Church burned down many years ago and it's a real iron infested, underground junkyard.
A few days ago I did a 6 hour grid search of the 100 x 50 ft. area coming in from multiple directions.
The bad news is that local kids also play in this area - so there were also a lot of newer coins.
So I ended up finding a One Cent "Trifecta" - really a "Quadfecta" - if you want to include one of the later styled Lincoln Cents. :dontknow:

Large Cent - 1837
Mercury Dime - 1923
Indian Cents - 1901 - 1906
Wheat Cents - 1911 - 1919 - 1920 - 1952 D

(Not Shown In The Photo's)
Newer Clad Coins - (28)
Old Brass Horse Rosette
Old Brass Rifle Trigger Guard

Good Hunting !

Gridding through an iron infested spot is not so easy. You did very well for yourself. Congrats!

Yes, hunting in a iron infested area can be a big challenge for sure.
But that's why a lot of other's have walked away from these sites in the past.
I love hearing "machine gun fire" iron hits - it's the perfect place for the good finds to hide !

Great to see a large cent in the mix. Do you find them often in Ohio?

Yes, there seems to be a pretty good amount of Large Cents here in Ohio.
I've found (53) of them - the oldest being a 1812.
Seems like if you want to find the older Capped Bust and Draped Bust Large Cents you have to go East of Ohio.
They find the older L.C's in places like Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, New England, etc.

I'm in Pennsylvania actually. Have a few drapped busts and a classic head. Capped bust dime or any Capped bust silver is still on my bucket list. Oldest us coin thus far is a fresh looking 1838 half dime. Was so close to Capped bust too.

Yes, I was lucky to get in "just under the wire" with the 1837 (last year minted) Capped Bust Half Dime I found about 10 yrs. ago.
